The Sales Specialist has operating responsibility, and is accountable to the Sales Manager for operating the territory within the scope assigned by his/her Manager. He/She is responsible for gaining specification approvals and soliciting orders for assigned products in the Appliance segment, training and coordinating proactive programs with key distributors, for achieving approved sales objectives, for customer relations, for expense control, for contributing specialized knowledge to marketing planning and coordinating for new business development.

Responsibilities:

  • Meet or exceed all established sales objectives and goals for assigned territory
  • Execute the business unit’s sales strategy through specialized working knowledge of tesa solutions
  • Provide technical assistance, service, and application advice for customers within defined markets
  • Train, coach and develop by observation and example distributor representatives
  • Develop and maintain excellent customer and distributor relationships in defined market
  • Report required field sales activity through company specified CRM system
  • Plan and organize effective use of time to meet the demands of the territory objectives
  • Effective presentation of our value proposition to the customer
  • Partner & collaborate with all company business units to find the best solutions for the customer
  • Maintain behaviour, appearance, and standard of performance in line with the company’s Code of Conduct, policies and procedures
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field and/or relevant job experience
  • Ability to understand technical requirements of customers application as it relates to appliance industry
  • Strong understanding of “pull through” selling (i.e. personally creating the need at the end-user level and selling via stocking distributors) and direct selling concepts. Knowledge gained either via experience or educational basis of marketing channels
  • Understanding of consultative selling into Industrial Manufacturing markets is a plus
  • Strong skill set in areas of time management, self-organizational and project management
  • Willing and able to travel 50%. Must also be available for air travel, as necessary
  • Must possess current and valid driver’s license
  • Physically able to lift boxes up to 35 lbs. in weight
  • Proficient in use of computers to include but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite as well as ability to use Customer Relationship Management software programs
  • Multi-cultural understanding is a plus
